About Department
Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s, Mahilaratna Pushapatai Hiray Arts, Science and
Commerce Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Malegaon- Camp was established in the year 1990.
The Department of Physical Education was introduced in the same year. Department
provide special Sports Facility to gain number of girls Participation in sports.
Vision:
To provide sports activities for the personality development of students with the
motto, ‘sports for all’ and to prepare physical education leaders of high academic
caliber, with a holistic development of body, mind and spirit nurtured with a strong
commitment to serve humanity.
Mission:
Strive for “Mass Participation” Of your in Games & Sports (Physical activity) to
develop personal Health , Fitness and social qualities which will enable them to become
worthy citizens of India and in process endeavor to produce National and International
level Players.
Objectives:
- To ensure “ MASS Participation ” of Students in Games & Sports
- To create awareness of the importance and benefits of physical activities in day
to day life.

Indoor facilities:
The college has provided a bulk of indoor and outdoor sports and games facilities
catering to the diverse needs of the sports personnel. Besides the college is committed to
innovate, modernize and update the existing sports facilities. In fact, the Department
believes only in provision of the distinguished sports facilities. The sports, games and
gymnasium facilities made available to the sports personnel are as under:

B) Outdoor sports & games facilities:
It is our immense pleasure to state that, the college authority has provided the outdoor
sports facilities as under. The college has a huge playground of 6.5 acres open to all the
outdoor sports facilities along with the following outdoor games facilities have been
provided especially, the 6 lane Athletic track, as there is no another athletic track is
available in the Malegaon tehsil.

Highlights of the Department:
- The college has a very spacious Playground & Gymnasium.
- Facilities for different sports and games are available.
- We also provide specific coaching & training for students by experts.
- We provide special allowances for players other than the university, who selected
at All India Inter University, National and Inter National levels.
- Provide Financial Assistance of the Medical Expense for the sportsperson.
- Physical Education is become compulsory subject for all the first year students
from all streams, so we run different activities and guest lectures by experts for
students.
- Every year approximately 10 to 15 teams are participating in the Nashik Zone Inter
collegiate tournament & we stood first in around 2 to 3 events.
- Every year approximately 15 to 20 players participate in S. P. Pune Univ. Inter
Zonal tournaments.
- We organise Inter college/Inter Zonal tournaments, Annual Sports Meet every year
& every student will participate in these events with lots of enthusiasm and energy.
